Portland salon faces second herpes infection lawsuit in two years

Daily Mail ·

A Portland customer has sued PDX Nails, alleging she contracted herpes after a manicure in August 2025. It is the second similar claim against the salon in two years, and her lawsuit also accuses Oregon regulators of failing to prevent another alleged infection.

The 31-year-old, identified as J.S., is seeking $2.5 million and says she developed a blister the day after her appointment, followed by repeated outbreaks despite antiviral medication. The salon settled an earlier customer’s $1.75 million lawsuit in July 2025 for an undisclosed amount; that customer said tests confirmed a finger infection after a 2023 manicure. J.S.’s claims about the salon’s practices have not been established in court.

In short

  • A second customer has sued PDX Nails over an alleged herpes infection.
  • She is seeking $2.5 million in damages.
