Some of Wimbledon's leading players are reportedly bypassing the All England Club's luxurious players' lounge in favour of freshly made pasta from a modest basement canteen normally used by journalists and broadcast crews. According to the report, runners have been making regular trips to the Media restaurant to collect orders for stars, an unexpected food trend at a Championships better known for its lavish player catering.

Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff are among those understood to have sent orders to the canteen, while two-time champion Andy Murray was said to be a regular in previous years. The made-to-order pasta station, run by two experienced chefs and offering dishes tailored to dietary requirements, is priced between £20 and £22.95. By contrast, the players' lounge offers perks including a live sushi chef, premium venison and a dedicated nutrition bar.

  • Top Wimbledon players reportedly prefer the media canteen's pasta to the players' lounge.
  • Djokovic, Gauff and previously Andy Murray named among the customers.
  • The made-to-order pasta costs between u00a320 and u00a322.95.
