Speculation about Oasis returning to Knebworth in 2027 has intensified after promoter SJM Concerts, who ran the band's 2025 reunion tour, secured a live events licence for the Hertfordshire venue from North Hertfordshire Council. The licence, which took effect immediately and has no expiry date, does not confirm any Oasis shows are planned, but its timing—alongside recent reports of a possible 12-night Manchester homecoming residency—has fuelled comeback rumours among fans.

The licence permits events for up to 125,000 people and live music until 3am. It follows unconfirmed reports last month, said to originate from sources close to Manchester City FC, that Oasis were planning 12 shows at the Etihad Stadium plus further UK and European dates in 2027, with any Knebworth return also mooted. The site holds huge significance for the band: their sold-out 1996 Knebworth gigs drew 250,000 fans over two nights amid demand from an estimated 2.6 million ticket-seekers, while Liam Gallagher's 2022 solo shows there attracted around 170,000 fans. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the original 1996 concerts.
