Deadline · 1 hour ago

Production companies VMI Worldwide, Verdi Productions and Source M+P have wrapped filming on "Stung," a killer bee horror film shot entirely in Rhode Island. Written and directed by Colin Minihan, the project adds Odeya Rush, Annarah Cymone and Neela Jolene to a cast previously announced to include Justin Long and Iris Apatow, with VMI Worldwide set to shop the film to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film centres on four friends whose girls' night sleepover turns deadly when their home is swarmed by African killer bees, with Long playing an ineffectual neighbour unable to save them. The cast also features Teddy Parker, Kayln Harper, James Baccile, Tom DeNucci, Kea Ho and Rob Goon, while Andre Relis, Chad A. Verdi, Jib Polhemus, Chad Verdi Jr., Paul Luba and Jessica Russo produced. Rush is known for "Lady Bird" and "Goosebumps," Apatow for "Tell Me Lies" and the upcoming "Hunger Games" prequel, and Cymone for Netflix's "The Midnight Club," while Verdi Productions president Chad A. Verdi praised Minihan's tension-building and the cast's performances.
