Electronic producer O'Flynn has released his third solo album, 'Kairos', a genre-roaming record inspired by his travels through countries such as Morocco and his longstanding love of sampling. In a new interview, the artist reflects candidly on a career marked by industry setbacks, including music rejected by record shops and being dropped by a label twice, framing resilience as essential for any young producer trying to break through.

O'Flynn, now 33, began making music aged 13 after a school music technology lesson, building his sound through influences such as Burial, Four Tet, Daft Punk and sampling specialists RJD2 and DJ Shadow. He has since been championed by Four Tet and Gilles Peterson, and previously released a collaborative album, 'Shimmer', with Fraser Ray, alongside his 2019 record 'Aletheia'. 'Kairos' moves between raw club tracks and ambient textures reminiscent of Bonobo and Barry Can't Swim, reflecting his evolving studio setup and continued passion for crate-digging and field recordings.
