Cole Escola reunites Oh, Mary! cast for West End return
The West End production of “Oh, Mary!” is bringing back several notable cast members for a limited London run led by playwright and original star Cole Escola, who will return as Mary Todd Lincoln from 20 July to 15 August at the Trafalgar Theatre. That matters because it reunites performers closely associated with the show’s success on Broadway and in London, adding prestige to a production that has already won major awards and extended its booking period.
Giles Terera will reprise Mary’s Husband from 20 July to 15 August, while Michael Urie will return as Mary’s Teacher from 20 July to 1 August; Bianca Leigh and Tony Macht will also rejoin for the 20 July to 1 August period. From 3 August, Dino Fetscher, Kate O’Donnell and Oliver Stockley take over supporting roles, and from 17 August to 26 September Jinkx Monsoon will play Mary, alongside Scott Karim as Mary’s Husband. A filmed performance is scheduled for 28 July, tickets for those shows are already on sale, and the production, directed by Sam Pinkleton, is now booking in London through 2 January.
