The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has dismissed staff attorney Shannon Desherow following an internal investigation into an anti-ICE video she posted on social media. The case has drawn attention because her remarks prompted political criticism and renewed debate over public employees’ conduct and criticism of federal immigration enforcement.

In the video, reposted on 9 July, Desherow said she would not comply with ICE and urged US citizens to make agents’ work difficult, arguing that ICE lacked authority over citizens. OSBI said the investigation ended in her termination but gave no further details; the Oklahoma Attorney General had previously said employees strongly opposed to federal law-enforcement partners should resign.
