Pop star Olivia Rodrigo quietly paid for a fan's final semester of college tuition after learning she was struggling to fund her studies, in a gesture only made public once the fan had graduated. The recipient, content creator Jamie Causey, said she had deliberately kept the act of kindness private because she did not want it to become a public spectacle, and only shared the story in a TikTok video reflecting on her time on the platform after completing her degree at the University of Alabama.

The pair first connected when Rodrigo left an encouraging comment on one of Causey's birthday videos, and later reached out privately after seeing Causey open up about being a first-generation student facing tuition difficulties. Rodrigo offered to help via Venmo, and her representative subsequently confirmed a $5,000 contribution towards Causey's studies. Causey expressed gratitude in her video, saying Rodrigo "didn't owe me anything" and encouraging her followers to pass on similar acts of kindness to others.
