Olivia Rodrigo Releases New Song ‘Serena Joy’ Via CD Single at One Indie Record Shop
Olivia Rodrigo has surprise-released a new song, “Serena Joy”, through a limited-edition CD single sold exclusively by Analog Music Shop in Tustin, California. The release supports the build-up to her upcoming Daisy Chain Fields festival in nearby Irvine, while also highlighting her support for an independent local record retailer and women-focused music initiatives.
Rodrigo supplied 500 copies of the CD, which sold out by Friday night; the shop is about 7.5 miles from the festival venue. “Serena Joy”, inspired by *The Handmaid’s Tale*, was recorded for Rodrigo’s recent album *You Look Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love* but omitted because it did not fit the album’s relationship-focused narrative. The shop said the track would be available digitally three days later, on Monday.
