Olivia Rodrigo has partnered with the Center for Reproductive Rights to address misinformation around abortion bans, midwifery restrictions and the US maternal health crisis. In a series of interviews, the singer spoke with three lawyers at the reproductive rights organisation about the real-world consequences of restrictive laws since the overturning of Roe v Wade, highlighting cases where women have suffered serious harm after being denied timely abortion care.

The conversations covered specific legal cases, including Zurawski v State of Texas, in which a woman nearly died of sepsis after being refused an abortion at 18 weeks and had to be airlifted to another state for treatment. Attorneys also discussed efforts by anti-abortion campaigners to restrict access to the medication mifepristone despite decades of safety data, and a Georgia case in which midwives are suing the state over laws limiting their ability to practise, which advocates say contributes to higher maternal mortality rates, particularly among Black women, who they say die at three times the rate of white women. The Center said it has challenged abortion bans in ten US states since Roe was overturned.
