On ‘AHHCade,’ PNAU Takes Us on a Trip to a Time That was ‘Naive’ in a ‘Beautiful Way’
Australian electronic duo PNAU have released their seventh studio album, AHHCade, drawing on memories of video-game arcades as vivid, playful spaces that foreshadowed dance culture. Co-founder Nick Littlemore said the record began as an attempt at darker, industrial music but evolved into a more nostalgic celebration of a “naive” era, and the album reinforces the group’s long-running blend of electronic pop and collaborative production.
Released on 31 July through Sydney label etcetc, AHHCade includes earlier singles “Tu Corazon (Your Heart)” with Mexican rock band The Warning and “Nirvana” with EARTHGANG and sadMONTH, alongside new single “Serotonin” featuring Kurtis Wells. The album also includes guests such as Master Peace, Kungs and MEDUZA; PNAU will tour Australia from 19 September, while Littlemore says he hopes to stop personal touring by year-end to focus on production, composition and a classical project.
