One of Australia’s most wanted men: $250,000 reward offered to find suspected Coconut Cartel boss Anthony Pele after deadly Sydney shooting
New South Wales Police are offering a worldwide reward of $250,000 for information leading to the arrest and extradition of Anthony Pele, a 25-year-old suspected gang leader who has been on the run since 2023. He is wanted over charges relating to the alleged murder of Ahmed Al-Azzam, and police say he may be directing criminal activity from overseas.
Al-Azzam was shot dead in his car in Greenacre, south-west Sydney, in July 2023; two men in a nearby car were also shot at after allegedly being mistaken for a rival gang’s hit team. Pele left Australia within weeks and has reportedly been seen in several countries, including Samoa, Mexico, Albania, Thailand and Vietnam. Police say the Coconut Cartel is linked to the KVT gang and had ties to the Alameddine crime network.
