One of Sci-Fi’s Greatest Trilogies Is Taking Over the Streaming Charts

Collider · 1 month ago

The Men in Black trilogy has surged back into popularity, with all three films simultaneously appearing on Peacock's US Top 10 movie chart. The renewed interest fits a wider trend of science fiction titles reclaiming streaming attention even as fantasy and horror dominate current cinema releases, with audiences turning to platforms to revisit beloved older genre entries.

Men in Black II ranked fifth, Men in Black III sixth, and the original Men in Black tenth on Peacock's chart. Starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as Agents J and K, the trilogy collectively grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide and later spawned the 2019 spin-off Men in Black: International with a new cast. Other sci-fi titles enjoying similar streaming resurgences include The Running Man, Pacific Rim, Project Hail Mary and the new Ghost in the Shell anime series.
