The Canadian series, based on Maureen Jennings' novels, follows Detective William Murdoch as he solves grisly murders in turn-of-the-century Toronto using pioneering forensic techniques, and its return marks a milestone for a show now entering its third decade on air.

The new season brings back the established cast, including Yannick Bisson as Murdoch, Thomas Craig, Lachlan Murdoch, Kataem O'Connor, Daniel Maslany, Shanice Banton, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Arwen Humphreys and Clare McConnell, alongside guest stars such as Emma Slater, Jason Mewes and Gilmore Girls' Yanic Truesdale.
