One-year-old discovered among three kids left home alone when parents went to play pickleball, police say
An Oklahoma couple were arrested after allegedly leaving their three young children, including a one-year-old, alone at home while they drove roughly 20 minutes away to play pickleball. Andrew Dick and Feather Roberts were taken into custody on 30 August in Glenpool after a 911 hang-up call prompted a welfare check, raising fresh concerns about parental neglect and child safety.
Police found the eight- and five-year-old children watching television while the youngest was asleep, and were told the children had access to an iPad to call for help in an emergency. Officers later learned the children had reportedly been left unsupervised before, and both parents were each charged with three counts of child neglect. The couple had told a contact they were with a sitter while playing at a facility around 11 miles from their home; officials noted the couple also has an infant who was being cared for by a babysitter elsewhere at the time.
