Oni Press and The Nacelle Company Join Forces for The Art of The Toys That Made Us

IGN · 21 hours ago

Oni Press and The Nacelle Company have launched a Kickstarter campaign for The Art of The Toys That Made Us, a companion book series to Netflix's nostalgia documentary The Toys That Made Us. The collection lets fans explore the artwork, advertising and concept designs behind classic toy lines featured in the show, such as Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, giving them a way to engage with the franchise's history beyond the screen while new seasons are in production.

The set comprises two slipcase hardcover volumes covering the toylines, alongside a separate book, Nacelleverse: Year Zero, which gathers early comics from the shared "Nacelleverse" spanning franchises including Biker Mice From Mars, RoboForce, Secaturs, Power Lords and C.O.W.–Boys of Moo Mesa. Backers can also access bonus items such as enamel pins, wallets, lunchboxes and trucker hats, plus a limited run of just 15 hand-sketched Biker Mice From Mars figures illustrated by artists including Juan Gedeon, V Ken Marion and Dustin Weaver. Nacelle founder Brian Volk-Weiss and Oni's Sam Kusek both described the project as a natural extension of the show, which has been renewed for two further seasons.
