TAG Heuer has revived one of the most recognisable versions of its original Formula 1 watch, bringing back the bright orange 373.513 (later WA1213) as part of its 2025 Solargraph F1 relaunch. Though it carries no official name, the model is being dubbed "the Zandvoort" by watch enthusiasts, reportedly timed to mark the final Dutch Grand Prix at the Zandvoort circuit, and follows WIRED's earlier coverage of TAG's wider F1 range overhaul.

The new 38mm watch is larger than the original 28mm and 35mm versions but keeps much of the 1980s design, including the grey opalin dial and the F1 logo motif on the strap. It's available on an orange rubber strap for $2,150 or a three-row sand-blasted steel bracelet for $2,250, and is solar-powered with a case moulded from TH-Polylight, a castor-based bioplastic replacing the original's Arnite thermoplastic over a steel inner core. Notably, the new rubber strap lacks the V-shaped cutting grooves of the originals, which let 1980s wearers trim the extra-long strap designed to fit over wetsuits, reflecting the watch's original design brief for surfers and divers rather than motorsport fans.
