Orbitals will launch with a Global Friend’s Pass app, allowing people to join an online co-op session without owning the full game if their friend has bought it. The feature is significant because Orbitals is designed solely for co-op play, reducing the barrier for players who want to try it with someone else.

The app will be available from the game’s 3 September launch and will also include a free local co-op demo covering the opening chapter. Players can use Friend’s Pass or GameShare for online play with a Nintendo Switch Online membership, while local GameShare supports a partner using an original Switch; same-console local co-op is also available.
