Orville Peck has announced a new album, Mule, and released its lead single, “Too Little, Too Late”. The announcement marks his return to recorded music after his Broadway role as the Emcee in Cabaret, and will be his first full-length album since 2022’s Bronco.

Mule will be released on 18 September through Warner Records and contains 13 tracks, with “Too Little, Too Late” appearing as track 11. Despite sharing a title with JoJo’s 2006 hit, released 20 years earlier on the same date, Peck’s song is described as theatrical country-pop with doo-wop, Buddy Holly and swing influences; it was co-written with Dan Wilson and Steve Rusch, produced by Jay Joyce, and accompanied by a video directed by Austin Peters.
