The Japanese punk band Otoboke Beaver have issued a public apology after their guitarist injured an audience member by throwing her guitar into the crowd during a show. The incident took place in April at Osaka's Umeda Club Quattro, around the time the band released their "Is The New Album Out Yet?" EP, but the band only addressed it publicly this week, also apologising for the delay in doing so.

In a Japanese-language statement posted on Instagram, the band said guitarist Yoyoyoshie's thrown guitar struck a fan, who was taken to hospital and treated for a laceration and sprain, requiring seven stitches to the forehead. Otoboke Beaver said poor coordination between the band and venue staff after the incident had delayed a direct apology, and stressed that responsibility for both the accident and the response lies with the band, who pledged to prevent any repeat in future shows.
