Sheffield-based illustrator and animator Emily Redfearn is holding her debut solo exhibition, titled Joy, at Hop Hideout. The show, which coincides with Tramlines weekend, brings together older illustrations alongside previously unseen pieces, all built around Redfearn's upbeat, colourful visual style and her instinct to find enjoyment in everyday life.

The exhibition combines prints, posters, physical artwork and animation, reflecting the range of media Redfearn works across in her career, which draws on a background in branding. For the show she also produced new merchandise and a small number of original paintings for sale, something she rarely does but which was well received, alongside playful touches such as a CRT television display. The venue was chosen because of Redfearn's long-standing working relationship with Hop Hideout owner Jules, with both wanting the event to feel relaxed and unpretentious rather than formal.
