Outernet is a new app from founders Danielle Egan and Athena Leong designed to turn social media posts you save about events, restaurants or places into an organised, actionable to-do list for real-world exploration. The app addresses a common habit of saving inspiring TikTok or Instagram content only to forget about it, aiming instead to become what its creators call a "motivation engine for IRL" that reduces the friction between wanting to do something and actually doing it.

Users can share posts to Outernet directly from apps like TikTok and Instagram, paste in links, or upload photos such as flyers, and the app uses AI to extract details like date, time and location. Events appear in a chronological feed, while undated activities and places to visit are sorted into separate tabs, with options to sync to Apple or Google Calendar or view entries on a map. The app also sends reminders to prompt users to follow through, and lets them "stamp" completed activities, building towards a planned passport-style record of things they've done. It joins similar apps such as Albo, Tabi and Plotline, though its founders' backgrounds organising real-world social events set it apart.
