‘Outlander’s Sam Heughan Officially Joins Taylor Sheridan’s Favorite Streamer

Sam Heughan, best known for playing Jamie Fraser in Outlander, has joined Ascent, a thriller series in development at Paramount+. He will star alongside Viola Davis, whose character leads a corporate crisis firm and tries to save her estranged daughter.

Heughan will play Conal, one of the firm’s top agents, described as a charismatic social shapeshifter who pursues his targets relentlessly. John Logan, who wrote Skyfall and Spectre, is the creator and showrunner; Davis and Julius Tennon are among the executive producers. No release date has been announced.
