Over the Hill is a minimalist off-road exploration game developed by Funselektor Labs that offers a meditative alternative to the content-heavy Forza Horizon 6. Rather than racing or competition, the game focuses on traversal and discovery in natural environments, with a deliberately chill, meditative approach to gameplay. A demo is now available on Steam ahead of the full release.

The game releases on Windows PC on 14 October, with versions planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X in 2027. The demo features Emerald Lake, a Canadian Alpine landscape where players explore in customisable retro-styled 4×4 vehicles, discovering cosmetic upgrades, trail challenges, and scenic viewpoints. Gameplay is relaxing and absorbing once players learn to navigate carefully; vehicles frequently get stuck in mud, water, or rough terrain, requiring problem-solving, and weather and time of day affect the environment and difficulty.
