Sheffield Wednesday forward Ike Ugbo has joined Cypriot club Apollon Limassol on a season-long loan, ending an underwhelming spell in South Yorkshire. The move gives the 27-year-old Canada international a fresh start after a difficult 2025-26 season in which he struggled for game time and goals, while allowing Wednesday to trim their squad.

Ugbo initially arrived at Hillsborough on loan from Cardiff City in January 2024 before making a permanent switch, and has scored nine goals in 81 appearances for the club. His form dipped sharply last season, managing just one goal, and he was overlooked for Canada's World Cup squad, having last started a match in November. Apollon Limassol, who finished third in the Cypriot First Division last season, will offer Ugbo European football through their participation in this term's Europa Conference League.
