The finding has prompted a warning to Australian workers, as a positive result could jeopardise employment in safety-critical industries such as mining and construction, where strict drug-testing policies apply.

The concern centres on ingredients within the OxyShred formula that appear capable of triggering a false positive for amphetamine-type substances on standard workplace screening tests. Workers are being urged to check supplement labels carefully and consider the risk before workplace testing, given the potentially serious consequences of a false meth reading, including suspension or dismissal.
