Zafer Dogan, 32, has been jailed for two years and four months after admitting offences involving thousands of images of women and children, including using AI to create sexualised images of two girls. Police criticised the repeated decisions to grant him bail, allowing him to return to a flat overlooking a playground despite concerns about the risk he posed locally.

Investigators found more than 5,000 photographs, many apparently taken from Dogan’s bedroom window without the subjects’ knowledge or consent. His convictions included making indecent images of children, including 653 category A images, as well as possessing extreme pornography, creating purported intimate images of an adult and obstructing police; the mothers of the two child victims described lasting fear and distress.
