Palworld developer confirms when the version 1.0 update will go live

Eurogamer · 2 days ago

The creature-collection survival game Palworld will exit Early Access on Friday, July 10th, with a confirmed release window of 12:30pm Japanese time (staggered across global time zones from late July 9th in Western regions). Whilst players may retain their existing progress if they choose, the studio has signalled that the extensive rework warrants a fresh start for the optimal experience.

The version 1.0 patch introduces sweeping changes: redesigned raid mechanics, expanded base-building options, a completely reconstructed narrative, newly explorable regions, and overhauled wildlife sanctuaries and tower bosses. The launch occurs amidst an ongoing intellectual-property dispute with Nintendo, which sued over alleged similarities between Palworld's creatures and Pokémon designs—a claim that prompted removal of a Pokéball-style summoning feature in an earlier update. Despite the litigation, Pocketpair's legal arguments have proven more persuasive through the proceedings thus far.

  • Major update overhauls raids, story, locations, and boss encounters across the survival-collection hybrid
  • Nintendo patent lawsuit continues after Pocketpair removed its Pokéball mechanic, though court arguments favour the developer
