Bushiroad, the producer of the Palworld Official Card Game, apologised on 12 August after its debut booster set, Dawn of Palpagos, remained difficult for customers to buy. The game launched on 30 July and had already recorded more than 3.5 million pack sales worldwide through pre-orders, according to the official Palworld card-game site. Strong demand left stock depleted at retailers, while online resale activity pushed the prices of certain cards far above their original retail cost. Bushiroad said it was considering measures to make the products available to more players, but did not provide a general restock date in the initial announcement.

The shortage affected Japan as well as other markets. Bushiroad said a further shipment of the Japanese Dawn of Palpagos release would reach pop-up shops on 14 August, with boxes to be sold without shrink wrap; this was widely interpreted as an attempt to discourage sealed-product reselling. Reports also noted purchase limits at some shops. The episode illustrates the difficulty of launching a new collectable card game when demand from players and collectors, alongside speculative buying, exceeds the first print run. Subsequent reporting indicated that additional stock and a second-edition print run were being planned, although timings and quantities had not then been confirmed.
