Pamela Anderson Talks New Dark Comedy ‘Rosebush Pruning,’ Second Chances & If ‘Baywatch’ Revisit Is In The Cards

Deadline · 5 hours ago

Pamela Anderson discusses her role in Rosebush Pruning, a new satirical dark comedy in which she continues the more challenging acting path she began with 2024’s The Last Showgirl. She says the film’s provocative, unsettling material examines extreme wealth, emotional emptiness and a lack of empathy, while also reflecting on the difficulties of finding her place in Hollywood.

Directed by Karim Aïnouz and written by Efthimis Filippou, the film follows a wealthy American family living in isolation in Spain until an outsider exposes buried tensions. Anderson plays the family’s dead matriarch, whose violent death and unusual memorial remain central to the family’s emotional turmoil; the ensemble also includes Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Elle Fanning and Jamie Bell. Rosebush Pruning opened in selected US cinemas on 24 July 2026, and Anderson also addressed the possibility of revisiting Baywatch.

  • Anderson embraces darker, more demanding film roles.
  • Rosebush Pruning satirises wealth, isolation and emotional dysfunction.
  • The film opened in selected US cinemas.
