Paramount Primal Developing Film Adaptation Of Nick Cutter Horror Novel ‘The Troop’ From Screenwriter Chris Basler
Paramount Primal is developing a film adaptation of Nick Cutter’s 2014 horror novel The Troop, with Chris Basler writing the screenplay. The project expands the new Paramount genre label’s early slate and adapts a story about scouts facing a deadly infection during a camping trip.
Lyrical Media will produce, while Tracy Rosenblum will oversee the film for Paramount Primal. Cutter is the pen name of author Craig Davidson; The Troop won the James Herbert Award for Horror Writing, and Paramount Primal was formally launched in July with other projects including a new A Nightmare on Elm Street film.
