Paramount Signs Range Studios To Two-Year First-Look Deal

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Range Studios, the production arm of Range Media Partners, is nearing a two-year first-look deal with Paramount Pictures to focus on producing commercially oriented theatrical films. The agreement builds on an already active relationship between the two companies, with several projects already in development, and reflects Paramount's push to secure reliable pipelines of mid-budget, commercially minded features for cinema release.

Under Fred Berger's leadership, Range's Film & Production division has produced almost 20 films in the past three years, including A Complete Unknown, Longlegs and its sequel The Monkey, and The Bikeriders. Projects already lined up for Paramount include the workplace comedy Bald Eagles and Osgood Perkins' next film with Nicolas Cage, due in January 2028, while Range founding partner Jack Whigham will advise on the deal. The news follows the recent departure of Range executive Brian Kavanaugh-Jones to rival outfit Oddfellows, though he remains a producing partner on titles such as Longlegs 2; Puck's Matt Belloni first reported the first-look agreement.
