Paramount Skydance has agreed to delay completing its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery while legal challenges to the deal are considered. The pause matters because it prevents the proposed Hollywood media combination from closing before courts decide whether it would unlawfully reduce competition.

The companies will hold off until the cases brought by state attorneys general and the Writers Guild of America are resolved, or until 1 June 2027, whichever comes first. The transaction is valued at about $110 billion and has been challenged by California and 11 other states, which argue it could reduce choice for cinema-goers and cable customers.
