Lindsay is accused of killing the couple's three young children in 2023, a crime she admits committing but says occurred while she was overmedicated and suffering from postpartum psychosis. The sighting is notable because it is one of several public appearances Clancy has made during and after the trial, fuelling ongoing public and media interest in his conduct and whereabouts.

Judge William Sullivan declared the mistrial on Friday after a lone holdout juror prevented the panel of nine women and three men from reaching a unanimous verdict, despite more than 37 hours of deliberation following five weeks of testimony. An emergency appeal by Lindsay's attorney, Kevin Reddington, alleging the holdout juror was biased, was rejected by Associate Justice Dalila Argaez Wendlandt shortly before the mistrial was announced.
