Paul McCartney continues “journey through Dungeon Lane” with four new songs – including ‘flip mix’ of Ringo Starr duet ‘Home To Us’

NME ·

Paul McCartney has released a Special Edition of his latest solo album "The Boys of Dungeon Lane", which includes four previously unreleased tracks. The expansion comes as the original album continues its success since its May release, having topped global charts and secured a Mercury Prize nomination, McCartney's first for the prestigious award.

The Special Edition features three brand-new songs: "City Fox", "One Night Stand" and "Chelsea Boots", alongside an alternate "Flip Mix" version of the Ringo Starr duet "Home To Us" with their vocal parts reversed. The record is available digitally now, with physical copies launching on 9 December in multiple formats, including a limited-edition orange and blue marble vinyl with zoetrope etching. McCartney created the album with Andrew Watt, describing their collaboration as a "production journey" where they worked together like "little boys in a sandpit, having fun".

Paul McCartney is one of the world's most celebrated musicians, best known as a member of The Beatles. Since The Beatles disbanded, he has maintained a prolific solo career spanning over five decades.

In May, McCartney released his latest solo album 'The Boys of Dungeon Lane', which achieved significant commercial and critical success worldwide. The album earned McCartney a nomination for the Mercury Prize, a prestigious music award—his first such nomination despite his lengthy career.

The album was created with producer Andrew Watt, and features a duet with Ringo Starr, the drummer from The Beatles, on the track 'Home To Us'. McCartney has described working with Watt as a process of collaborative exploration, allowing both artists to work together openly.
