Paul McCartney said he still loves John Lennon, despite the pair’s past arguments, during a Los Angeles conversation about the documentary *Man on the Run*. He described Lennon as a close friend he had known since his teens and said their disagreements never erased his affection for him.

McCartney recalled looking up to Lennon when they first became friends at 15 and 16, praising his wit while acknowledging he could be difficult. He also reflected on the hardships Lennon faced, including his father leaving when he was young and the death of his mother, and contrasted these with his own more secure upbringing before his mother died when he was about 14.
