Paul Rudd’s Pre-‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Gem Is Officially a Streaming Hit

Paul Rudd’s musical comedy *Power Ballad* has become one of the ten most-watched films on Starz in the US, returning to the spotlight seven months after its festival debut. The film’s streaming success comes ahead of Rudd’s appearance as Ant-Man in *Avengers: Doomsday*, due in December 2026.

Rudd plays Rick, a wedding singer whose songwriting is reignited after meeting washed-up pop star Danny, played by Nick Jonas. When Danny takes Rick’s song and uses it to revive his career, the film explores their clash through music and comedy. Reviews after its Dublin International Film Festival premiere were strongly positive; one critic gave it 8/10 and praised its cast and director John Carney.
