Paul Thomas Anderson's new concert film "Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall" will have its world premiere at the New York Film Festival on 1 October, screening on 35mm at Alice Tully Hall with Anderson and Winter both in attendance. The film documents Geese frontman Cameron Winter's sold-out solo performance at the famed New York venue last year, marking a notable pairing of one of American cinema's most acclaimed directors with a rising indie rock figure, and adding another high-profile title to this year's festival line-up.

Anderson directed and shot the film himself on 35mm and 16mm, with music recorded and produced by Grammy-winning producer Ariel Rechtshaid, known for his work with Vampire Weekend and Adele; Benny Safdie co-produced alongside Sara Murphy, Erica Frauman and Maggie Ambrose. NYFF Artistic Director Dennis Lim praised the film as "a concert movie for the ages." It joins a slate that includes Tony Gilroy's "Behemoth!", Ava DuVernay's documentary "14th", and Takashi Yamazaki's "Godzilla Minus Zero", with the festival opening on 25 September with James Gray's "Paper Tiger".
