Amy Poehler and Mike Schur, the collaborators behind Parks and Recreation, have reunited for a new series called Dig, premiering on Peacock on 23 November. This marks Poehler's return to a starring scripted role for the first time in nearly a decade, making it a significant reunion of major talent who both hold exclusive overall deals with Universal Television. The series represents one of Peacock's most ambitious comedy undertakings, combining high-concept storytelling with international scope and production budgets typically reserved for prestige projects.

Dig is a 10-episode comedy based on Kate Myers' bestselling 2023 novel Excavations, centring on four women archaeologists at a Greek dig site who uncover a discovery capable of rewriting history before becoming caught in a high-stakes international conspiracy. The ensemble cast includes Hugh Laurie in a co-lead role, with Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza playing the other archaeologists, alongside supporting players including Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, and George Basil. Mike Schur and his wife J.J. Philbin serve as co-showrunners and writers, with Schur and Poehler having written the pilot episode.
