Disney Plus is developing a television adaptation of Rick Riordan's Kane Chronicles, following the success of its Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Riordan will co-write the show alongside executive producer Angela Robinson, known for her work on True Blood, The L Word and Wednesday, though the series has not yet been formally ordered. The move builds on Disney's existing partnership with Riordan and extends his fantasy franchise into Egyptian mythology, mirroring the Greek-mythology focus of Percy Jackson.

The Kane Chronicles follows siblings Carter and Sadie Kane, descendants of pharaohs Narmer and Ramses the Great, as they master inherited magic and navigate conflicts among Egyptian gods after their father unleashes the god of chaos. The trilogy, published between 2010 and 2012, was previously the subject of a lapsed Netflix film deal before Disney acquired it. Riordan will work again with Percy Jackson producers Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell, alongside his wife and creative partner Rebecca Riordan, with Robinson's 20th Television producing.
