Permane to stay as Racing Bulls team principal
Red Bull has extended Alan Permane’s contract as Racing Bulls team principal until the end of 2031, committing to his leadership for several more seasons. The move follows progress under Permane, with the team fifth in the championship after 19 races and leading the standings behind Formula 1’s “big four” teams.
Permane, 59, became team principal in July 2025 after Laurent Mekies moved to lead Red Bull. Racing Bulls reached the podium at the Dutch Grand Prix last season with Isack Hadjar, ending a four-year wait. Before joining Red Bull in 2024, Permane spent 34 years at Enstone, working through its Benetton, Renault and Lotus eras, which won two world titles each with Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso.
