Peter Gabriel has released “Looking For The Happy”, the latest instalment from his forthcoming album oi, which he has been issuing track by track on each full moon. The eight-and-a-half-minute song is a synth-funk piece about pursuing joy amid modern technology and online life, contrasting with the more sombre writing Gabriel says he usually finds easier.

Gabriel said he deliberately built the track around an uplifting, danceable groove and a celebratory chorus, while reflecting on gratitude, nature and finding contentment in everyday moments. It follows July’s 10-minute “One by One”, and its artwork uses Tishan Hsu’s 1986 piece Closed Circuit II, chosen for themes Gabriel sees as connecting technology, nature and humanity.
