Genesis’s original members Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Anthony Phillips have overseen a new deluxe reissue of the band’s 1969 debut, From Genesis to Revelation. The release matters because it revisits the group’s earliest recording with a new mix intended to foreground the musicians’ performances over the orchestral arrangements of the original album.

Cherry Red will release the reissue on 9 October in several formats, including a five-disc CD/Blu-ray box set, double vinyl and a two-CD edition. Gabriel, Banks and Rutherford also reunited at London’s Air Studios to film reflections on the album, while Stephen W Tayler created the new stereo mix; the expanded box includes multiple versions of the record, including newly remastered original material.
