Phoebe Bridgers Covers Nirvana In The Live Lounge

Stereogum · 2 hours ago

Phoebe Bridgers performed a session for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge in London, which has now been released, including a cover of Nirvana's "Lithium" from the album Nevermind. The session was recorded before she had to postpone a run of intimate UK shows this week due to appendicitis, which would have marked her first live performances since the release of her album Lost Weekend last Friday.

The Live Lounge appearance also featured performances of "Lost Boys" and "Bobby" from Lost Weekend, with the latter marking the first publicly circulated footage of the song given that phones have been banned at Bridgers' shows this year. Bridgers has notable prior connections to Nirvana: her supergroup boygenius recreated an iconic Nirvana Rolling Stone photo shoot, and Dave Grohl later joined them onstage at the Hollywood Bowl to perform their song "Satanist."
