Phoebe Bridgers has claimed her first solo UK number one album, with Lost Weekend topping the Official Albums Chart in its opening week, as published on Friday 21 August 2026. The milestone matters both for Bridgers, whose 2020 album Punisher peaked at only number six, and for her label Dead Oceans, which secures its first ever UK chart-topper. It comes shortly after Bridgers was forced to cancel the remaining dates of her UK tour due to illness, having revealed she developed appendicitis around her birthday.
Bridgers previously reached number one in the UK in 2023 as part of the supergroup boygenius alongside Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, whose album The Record also peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. Elsewhere on this week's chart, KATSEYE achieved a career-best number two with their EP Wild, Irish band The Script landed their ninth UK top 10 at number three with The User's Guide to Being Human, British group Jungle reached number four with Sunshine, and Michael Jackson's The Essential closed out the top five.
