Alison Moore, 63, received an 18-month suspended prison sentence after assaulting her husband, Rob, at their farmhouse in Damerham. Southampton Crown Court heard that she pushed him on to a bed and smeared her faeces across his face and into his mouth after an argument linked to a pub visit; the judge called the act a gratuitous degradation.

The prosecution said the attack was premeditated and followed a longer pattern of violent outbursts, including alleged earlier assaults with a broom handle and a ring. Moore admitted three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Her defence cited depression, bereavements and concerns about alcohol; her husband did not support a restraining order, and the couple left court together.
