Pink Eye Club – “Small Talk”
Pink Eye Club, the alias of Windmill scene musician and disco artist Haydn Davies, has released a new single called "Small Talk", the first preview of his upcoming album Emotional Dance Music. The track pairs glittering synths with lyrics about the social anxiety triggered by mundane small talk, before erupting into an upbeat, rave-inspired chorus in which Davies declares his exhaustion with idle chat in favour of dancing.
Davies has described the "autobiographical" album, due out in October, as reflecting a period in his life when he found it easier to connect with people through dancing than through conversation, though he says his confidence has since grown. He added that he believes many people share this experience, and that music and dancing can help even introverted people form genuine connections.
