Analyst Mat Piscatella of Circana has published updated weekly rankings of the most-played games on PlayStation and Xbox in the US, confirming that the charts remain dominated by the same long-running live-service titles and annualised sports franchises that have topped them for years. The lists, shared on Bluesky, highlight just how difficult it is for new releases to break into these top spots, with only one genuinely new game reaching each platform's top 20 despite the sheer volume of games launched weekly.

Fortnite leads both platforms, followed by a near-identical top 10 featuring Roblox, the Call of Duty app, GTA 5 Remastered, Marvel Rivals, Rainbow Six Siege and NBA 2K26, with minor platform-specific differences such as Minecraft and Forza Horizon 6 ranking higher on Xbox and Call of Duty performing better on PlayStation. The sole newcomers were indie horror title Shift at Midnight on Xbox and the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls beta on PlayStation, while Steam's equivalent chart proved more varied, featuring indie hits Meccha Chameleon and Slay the Spire 2 alongside Valve's still-unreleased beta game Deadlock at number seven.
