Sony has confirmed that nine games will leave the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalogue on 18 August 2026, including notable titles Dead Island 2 and Harold Halibut. The removal is larger than usual because five games originally due to leave in July had their departure delayed until August, giving subscribers extra time with them. This matters for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers who want to finish these games or purchase them outright before access ends.

The nine departing titles are Bomber Crew, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Onee Chanbara Origin, Roki, Space Crew: Legendary Edition, Dead Island 2, Earth Defense Force 6, Harold Halibut and Unicorn Overlord. In their place, from 21 July the catalogue gains games including Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Dying Light and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, with Premium subscribers also getting Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Indigo Prophecy. This is separate from the monthly downloadable games available to all PS Plus tiers, currently Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For the King II and CrossCode until 3 August; the wider shift comes as Sony plans to end disc-based game production by 2028.
