Paul Pogba is expected to leave Monaco, with talks reportedly under way over an early termination of his contract at the Ligue 1 club. The France international joined Monaco last summer after returning from a doping ban, and his departure would end a stint that never really got going, disrupted first by injury and now potentially by a change of manager and tactical direction.

Pogba signed a two-year deal with Monaco, due to run until the end of the coming season, but a source has told the BBC that discussions over an exit are progressing and could conclude soon; Monaco have not commented. The 2018 World Cup winner made just six appearances since joining in June 2025, and new manager Filipe Luis, who replaced Sebastien Pocognoli, may be looking to take central midfield in a different direction. Pogba had been provisionally banned for four years after testing positive for DHEA in 2023, before the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced the ban to 18 months, allowing him to return to football in March 2025.
